2020: Year In Review
VentureNext, the premier peer group of rising venture capital investors who invest in the Midwest, didn’t let the upheaval of 2020 get in the way of growing and providing value to their members. The biggest news for the group came with the announcement of a rebrand and securing official sponsorships from JumpStart, Rev1 and CincyTech to support their activities.
Our mentorship program has paired 27 mentors and mentees in the past year, enabling dozens of learning sessions. Despite having to shift to virtual programming, we were able to host 4 events this year including networking and panel sessions to discuss timely topics such as Investing During a Downturn. Over 85 deals were shared for potential syndication with our network.
Finally, we were thrilled to welcome 34 new members this year. The VentureNext membership collectively has over $7B of assets under management, and has enabled over $800M of syndication in investments across the Midwest. 2020 threw unexpected challenges at all of us to say the least, but our executive committee is proud of the work we all continue to do, and look forward to what next year will bring!
